NextGenBioPest at the 9th Molecular Insect Science Conference!
Researchers from the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH) took part in the 9th Molecular Insect Science Conference, held on April 27, 2026, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The team presented a poster titled "NextGenBioPest and REENFORCE: Innovative Strategies for Sustainable and Low-Risk Pest Management," showcasing the latest advances from both projects to an international audience of scientists and researchers.
The poster highlighted how NextGenBioPest and REENFORCE are working in parallel to develop innovative, environmentally responsible approaches to pest control — reducing reliance on conventional chemical pesticides while offering effective, science-based alternatives for growers and ecosystems alike.
The Molecular Insect Science Conference brings together leading researchers from around the world to discuss cutting-edge developments in insect molecular biology, providing an ideal platform for FORTH to engage directly with the scientific community. The presentation gave attendees insight into the REENFORCE project's goals and methodologies, while opening the door to new discussions, feedback, and potential collaborations with fellow researchers in the field.
By sharing this work on an international stage, FORTH continues to strengthen the visibility of NextGenBioPest within the global research landscape and to foster the kind of cross-institutional dialogue that drives innovation in sustainable pest management forward.
