On April 22nd, 2026, our partner Smart Agro Hub represented NextGenBioPest at InnovinAgri, an event dedicated to innovation in agriculture, held at the prestigious Agricultural University of Athens (AUA) — one of Greece's most prominent institutions in agricultural research and education.
InnovinAgri brought together researchers, academics, industry professionals, and innovators to explore the latest advances shaping the future of sustainable agriculture, making it an ideal platform to showcase the work being carried out within the NextGenBioPest consortium. The event's focus on agricultural innovation aligned closely with the project's mission to develop and promote next-generation biopesticide solutions as viable, science-backed alternatives to conventional chemical crop protection.
Smart Agro Hub's participation offered attendees a comprehensive overview of NextGenBioPest's objectives, ongoing research activities, and key outcomes — highlighting the project's multidisciplinary approach to tackling one of European agriculture's most pressing challenges: reducing pesticide use while maintaining effective and sustainable pest management.
The Agricultural University of Athens provided a fitting backdrop for this engagement. As a leading hub of agricultural science in Greece and the wider Mediterranean region, AUA represents precisely the kind of academic environment where the NextGenBioPest vision resonates — and where the researchers, students, and professionals of tomorrow are being shaped.
Events like InnovinAgri are a vital part of the project's dissemination strategy, ensuring that NextGenBioPest's findings and innovations reach the widest possible audience — from the scientific community to industry stakeholders and beyond.
