NextGenBioPest at EU-CONEXUS 2026!

On June 12th, 2026, our partner Smart Agro Hub represented NextGenBioPest at EU-CONEXUS 2026 — a key European academic and research event bringing together universities, researchers, and innovators from across the EU-CONEXUS network of coastal and maritime universities.


EU-CONEXUS is a European University Alliance uniting institutions committed to smart and sustainable coastal and maritime development, fostering cross-border collaboration in research, education, and innovation. Its annual gathering serves as a vibrant platform for exchanging knowledge, forging new partnerships, and showcasing projects that contribute to the European Union's broader sustainability and research agenda — making it a natural and valuable stage for NextGenBioPest.


Smart Agro Hub's participation offered attendees an in-depth look at the project's mission and ongoing activities, highlighting how NextGenBioPest is advancing the development of next-generation biopesticide solutions — including biological control agents, RNA-based tools, and Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies — as credible, science-backed alternatives to conventional chemical pesticides in European agriculture.


The event provided an excellent opportunity to engage with the wider EU academic community, spark interdisciplinary conversations, and strengthen connections between NextGenBioPest and the network of researchers and institutions working towards a more sustainable and resilient future for European food systems.


Dissemination events such as EU-CONEXUS 2026 are an integral part of NextGenBioPest's strategy to ensure its research reaches far beyond the consortium — building awareness, fostering collaboration, and reinforcing the message that innovative, environmentally responsible crop protection is not only possible, but already well underway.
