On March 14th, 2026, our partner Smart Agro Hub represented the NextGenBioPest project at Agrotica 2026, one of the most important agricultural trade fairs in Southeast Europe, held in Thessaloniki, Greece.

Agrotica is a landmark event in the regional agricultural calendar, attracting thousands of farmers, agri-businesses, researchers, policymakers, and industry professionals from across Greece and the wider Balkan region. It offers a unique space where the latest agricultural innovations, technologies, and research outputs meet the people who work the land every day — making it an ideal venue for showcasing the practical relevance of NextGenBioPest's work.

Bringing Next-Generation Biopesticides to the Farming Community

Smart Agro Hub used the occasion to introduce NextGenBioPest's mission and achievements to a diverse and engaged audience, highlighting the project's efforts to develop innovative, eco-friendly crop protection solutions — from biological control agents and RNA-based pesticides to AI-powered pest diagnostics and green chemicals.

The fair provided a valuable opportunity to connect directly with farmers, growers, and agri-SMEs — the very end users whose challenges NextGenBioPest is designed to address. These face-to-face conversations are essential for understanding real-world needs, building awareness of next-generation biopesticide solutions, and encouraging stakeholder engagement with the project's outputs.

Smart Agro Hub: Bridging Science and Practice

As the communication partner of NextGenBioPest, Smart Agro Hub plays a central role in ensuring that the project's results reach beyond the scientific community and resonate with practitioners, businesses, and the broader agricultural sector. Their presence at Agrotica 2026 was a natural extension of this mission — bringing the NextGenBioPest message to one of the most influential agricultural platforms in the region.

Thessaloniki's Agrotica once again proved to be a powerful meeting point for innovation and practice, and NextGenBioPest was proud to be part of it.
